Description

Once the group formed the visitors went to the academy gallery in the company of their official guide where they will have the chance to admire works by the greatest sculptors of the Renaissance.

The Accademia Gallery was founded in 1784 by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo di Lorena. Its purpose was to bring together the entire school of painting and drawing in Florence into a single large Academy which sanctioned all the works of art used by students of the arts to practice and practice. Over the years the Academy filled with a huge amount of paintings and statues changing its collections several times until, in 1827, it experienced a huge turning point with the arrival of the real David made by Michelangelo. Since that year, the Academy has been reorganized with a different purpose: to be introduced to the public as a Michelangelo Museum. In fact, our itinerary in the Accademia Gallery will allow you to admire the David.
