Learn about the significance of the Boston Tea Party – the political protest that played a role in leading to the American Revolution. Transport back to December 1773 when the colonists marched on board the tea ships. With a variety of interconnected exhibits, the Boston Tea Party experience allows you to delve into the history of the country in an entertaining yet educational way.

The tour begins at the Meeting House where your host will greet you. Learn about the importance of the famous Boston Tea Party before heading to the iconic Tea Party Ships where you’ll take part in the ‘Destruction of the Tea’. Throw tea into the very same body of water where the Boston Tea Party took place over 230 years ago!

You’ll then be guided to Griffin’s Wharf where you’ll find the open-air replica of the same 18th century vessels. Meet the Sons and Daughters of Liberty and learn more about the Boston Tea Party before watching the 3D reenactment of what went down on the morning after the event.

Admire the Robinson Tea Chest – the only surviving item from the Boston Tea Party which has been preserved for more than two centuries. Learn about the history of this chest and its origins.

Immerse yourself in the award-winning documentary, ‘Let It Begin Here’, which showcases the events of the beginning of the American Revolutionary War in April 1775. Then, end the experience with some tea and snacks at Abigail’s Tea Room and Terrace. Sample up to 5 different teas or delight in some iced tea or lemonade. The reasonably priced menu will also provide you with snack options such as scones, muffins, cookies, and pies. Don’t forget to head to the gift shop to purchase a souvenir when you’re done!
