Liberty Island

Enjoy views of the iconic Statue of Liberty as we approach Liberty Island. The ferry will provide you with different angles of the monument before you get up-close on the island! The tour guide will escort you through the island and provide you with fascinating facts about the history behind the monument. Take in Lady Liberty from all perspectives and notice how her appearance differs when the light hits.

Take your time exploring the Statue of Liberty Museum where you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the history of the monument. Opened in 2019, the museum focuses on the creation, meaning, and representation of the statue to honour and preserve Lady Liberty’s legacy. This is where the statue’s original torch is kept alongside many unique artefacts and exhibits. A fascinating experience, this museum will add to your perception of the monument.

Ellis Island

Hop back on the ferry as you make your way to Ellis Island – a symbol of the American Dream. After welcoming over 12 million immigrants from 1892 to 1954, Ellis Island is now a representation of identity and opportunity. The tour guide will point out significant monuments on the island, while explaining the rich history of the island. See the American Immigrant Wall of Honor before visiting the National Museum of Immigration where you can learn more about the history of the island. Here you’ll be provided with a unique view of American history as you step into an immigrant’s journey through the magnificent collection of artefacts. Due to regulations, your tour guide will not be able to enter the museum with you. However, the guide will offer you an explanation of what to expect inside.

The guided portion of the tour ends at Ellis Island. You can stay as long as you wish and then take the ferry back to Battery Park in your own time.

Departure time: 9am daily

Meeting point: Meet your guide outside the front entrance of Castle Clinton in Battery Park. Your guide will be on the steps outside of the north entrance of the castle, holding an orange flag. This is the entrance facing the buildings in Manhattan.

End Point:The guided portion of the tour ends at Ellis Island. You can stay as long as you wish and then take the ferry (ticket included) back to Battery Park.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time as the tour will begin on time.
This tour is accessible for both wheelchairs and strollers.
In the case of no show, there will be no refunds.
