The house was built on the site of one of the town’s most famous public executions – the infamous thief James ‘Yankee Jim’ Robinson. As the residence to Thomas Whaley and his family, this home saw many tragic events over the years, including the suicide of Thomas’ daughter, Violet. During the years they lived here, they claimed to have experienced a lot of paranormal activity, which they believed to be the ghost of James Robinson.

Only the first floor of the museum is wheelchair accessible. There are no elevators inside.
