With two floors of artefacts spanning 400 years, audio and visual presentations, and storytellers in period costumes, this interactive museum promises an interactive way to learn about Key West’s maritime history.

Step inside the Shipwreck Treasure Museum, a recreation of the 19th-century wrecker tycoon Asa Tift’s warehouse, and discover treasures from the Spanish fleets of the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as an immense collection of pieces from the 1856 wreck of the Isaac Allerton. You can even lift a silver bar recovered from the Spanish treasure galleon, Nuestra Senora de las Maravillas.

The costumed storytellers will bring the history of Key West’s shipwrecks to life, with characters such as Captain Joe and his crew sharing their stories.
