Opened in 2019, the museum focuses on the creation, meaning, and representation of the statue to honour and preserve Lady Liberty’s legacy. This is where the statue’s original torch is kept alongside many unique artefacts and exhibits. A fascinating experience, this museum will add to your perception of the monument.
Ellis Island
Hop back on the ferry as you make your way to Ellis Island – a symbol of the American Dream. After welcoming over 12 million immigrants from 1892 to 1954, Ellis Island is now a representation of identity and opportunity. The tour guide will point out significant monuments on the island, while explaining the rich history of the island. See the American Immigrant Wall of Honor before visiting the National Museum of Immigration where you can learn more about the history of the island. Here you’ll be provided with a unique view of American history as you step into an immigrant’s journey through the magnificent collection of artefacts. Due to regulations, your tour guide will not be able to enter the museum with you. However, the guide will offer you an explanation of what to expect inside.
The guided portion of the tour ends at Ellis Island. You can stay as long as you wish and then take the ferry back to Battery Park in your own time.
